BlackBerry 8707v 3G Ready

blackberry-8707v-1BlackBerry 8707v is the first 3G BlackBerry device to market. It’s a derivative of the ubiquitous BlackBerry 8700 series of devices, and it appears to have the same functionality as the 8700, just with added support for UMTS 2100 3G data.

There are limitations with the 8707v though. There’s no WiFi, unlike some recent messaging devices, nor is there any expandable memory (internal memory comprises of 64Mb of Flash memory plus 16Mb dynamic RAM). There’s no MP3 player or camera either. Of course, many businesses actually want these limitations as it makes the device simpler to manage.

Vodafone V710 the 3G Cellphone

vodafone-710-comboThe Vodafone 710 is an astonishingly dull 3G phone. As the name suggest, this is strictly a Vodafone-only affair, and other carriers won’t exactly have any sleepless nights over this particular phone.

There is something slightly interesting about the Vodafone 710 which is that it’s made by Huawei Mobile of China, and it’s the first time we’ve seen a Huawei handset launched as a mainstream European phone.

BlackBerry 8700 Series

The BlackBerry’s manufacturers RIM have successfully pushed out variants of the 8700 into many major markets. Although primarily sold as the 8700g, there are also network specific versions for Rogers of Canada (8700c), Orange and subsidiaries (8700f) and Vodafone and partners (8700v). The differences between the models appear to be mainly styling and software.
