The Nokia E51 new entry-level phone from Nokia in the E-Series, replace the Nokia E50. The E51 is highly specified handset compared with most of the Nokia range, however the new features which is included in the E51 really significant to take the E-series of handsets to the next level.

With Symbian S60 3rd Edition smartphone, the Nokia E51 is a quad-band GSM 850/900/1900/1900 MHz phone with dual band UMTS 850/2100 MHz. The Nokia E51 now adds UMTS (3G) and HSDPA (3.5G) plus WiFi. It makes the E51 useful as an accessory for a laptop, and the WiFi also opens up the possibility of using the handset for voice over IP (VOIP).

The 130MB of internal memory expandable in E51 with a microSD slot, Bluetooth and of course all the usual features you’d expect from a Nokia. There’s also an FM radio and a multimedia player.

With only 100 grams, the Nokia E51 is pretty light for a 3G phone with WiFi and a QVGA display. Talktime has disappointing four and a half hours or so, we don’t know if that’s on 3G or 2G though. Standby time is around 13 days.

The Nokia E51 will be priced around €350 before tax and subsidy, comes in Silver, Black and Rose colour combinations and should be available during Q4 2007.

Blackberry 8800 is what occurs when you cross the pearl of Blackberry 8100 with Blackberry 8700 and then add a little extra.

Very similar in the face and the weight to the 8700, the 8800 additions the rich support of multi-media, the memory of microSD positive and the navigation extensible of travelling with recognition decided not to add a camera to this business-directed device.

The multi-media one support is rather foreseeable nowadays, but the interesting addition with Blackberry 8800 is the inclusion of the support of GPS (system of total positioning), which once combined with the Blackberry of the RIM traces the application which allows satellite navigation, and it integrates even in the address book of blackberry.

The 8800 maintains an excellent posting similar of the Pixel 320×240 to the 8700 and it supports quadruple-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 megahertz plus GPRS and EDGE, but not the UMTS (3G). The 8800 also supports Bluetooth, although the stereo playback requires an ear-phone of cable.

It is a Blackberry, and naturally this means that the 8800 maintains the possibilities of transmission of messages of others handhelds of Blackberry, including the standard Internet proclaims a protocol and support of email of pushed Blackberry of the users of corporation. Talktime is up to 5 a.m., and the time of help is 22 days an astonishing maximum. In a general way, Blackberry 8800 measures 114 X 66 X 14mm and weighs 134 grams.

At the beginning the 8800 will be available with the radio of Cingular in the radio of the United States and Rogers to Canada, follow-up of other carriers in the whole world. [ via mobilegazette ]

P1i breaks with the tradition of series P800/P900/P910/P990 and with the “flick” characteristic on before device and of him also of the ditches keyboard QWERTY for a block of keys similar to M600i – a movement which could not be popular with all the users of the P900 series. It is also a lighter right of little that the 150g P990i weighing inside with 124 grams.

The first thing with the note on Sony Ericsson P1i is large the 2.6 “240×320 display of Pixel TFT – it is now a panel transflective which means that it can read more easily outside. As with the preceding models, it is a touch screen although Sony Ericsson P1i also has a test-dial control.this is a tri-band device of 900/1800/1900 megahertz with UMTS 2100 megahertz and support of 802.11b and of 802.11g WiFi. A principal disadvantage is that Sony Ericsson P1i does not support HSDPA, and also the support of network of band UMTS of the GSM/single tri-band is a limitation.

The operating software on Sony Ericsson P1i is the version Symbian 9.1 with the interface of UIQ 3.1 functioning on the top. Those with the current of P990 will find the whole usual of applications including/understanding a web browser (based on the opera), the reader of RSS, the customer of email and a range of the management tools personal of information.

P1i also supports VOIP, but expects that this is dependant of carrier because some networks recently neutralized VOIP in their telephones. The support of the solutions of corporation of email such as the Blackberry, ActiveSync and other systems will be available by added applications. If applications P990/M600 will function on P1i without modification is unknown. Sony Ericsson P1i is only little larger and heavier than M600 with 106 X 55 X 17mm and 124 grams. The life of battery is quoted as 10 hours of days of talk/18 of help on the GSM, 3.5 hours of days of talk/14 of help on 3G. By using Bluetooth and WiFi will eat in the life of battery significantly, although if all is not well as quickly as made him on P990.

HTC have a very good reputation like principal manufacturer of smartphone of Windows, but the catches of shift of HTC the company in a slightly different direction. Although it divides many devices with the tastes of the advantage of HTC, it is in fact an entirely puffed up PC running Windows Vista in a compact ultra package.

The shift of HTC is infinitely in the tradition of smartphone however with 7 with touch “panel, integrated data of GSM, of EDGE, UMTS and HSDPA, Bluetooth and WiFi. It is not a large device compared with a portable computer – word of HTC that it is about identical size as two cases of DVD, so much roughly 190 X 130 X 30 millimetres.

It is much smaller than a portable computer, but appreciably more mainly than even the largest portable telephone current of which we know. The operating software is businesses of Microsoft Vista, thus it is a graduate OS and the projectiles of the publicity of HTC seem to show it current the air interface, which astonishes in a so small device.

The exact design features of the shift of HTC are not known, but we know that it has a hard disk 30GB and a connection of USB thus an external optical device of media can be connected.

As with some other devices of HTC, the shift comprises tri-band UMTS with HSDPA, thus it can be employed in the USA as well as the rest of the world. Quadruple-band GSM with the means of GPRS and EDGE which the shift should usually be able to obtain a certain kind of connectivity without wire while wandering, and naturally there is the option of WiFi.

Even if the shift of HTC can make calls of voice (and this was not indicated), the too large device itself it to employ as combined mobile (you can test this for yourself by reassembling two boxes of DVD and by giving him an outward journey). Although it can be possible to make calls by the shift with an ear-phone of Bluetooth, and there is also the possibility of services of VOIP such as Skype, actually you would like that a more normal portable telephone is matched with the shift.

It is not a bad thing however, because it means that you can leave the shift in the office or to the house and carry a normal telephone in the place, something which owners of Nokia 770 and regeneration of the N800 lucky find. Naturally the shift requires its own chart of SIM to function and it is a device which would be appropriate for a tarriff devoted data.

The traditional one of Nokia 6120 is a telephone minimized with hidden depths – the absolute antithesis of Sirocco Gold of Nokia 8800.

It is difficult to believe, but this compound looking at unremarkable could right being the best telephone than Nokia ever made. To hold above on this thought during one moment. It weighs just 89 grams, but the traditional one of Nokia 6120 is a telephone with two bands of HSDPA/UMTS (850/2100 megahertz) with quadruple-band GSM more of the data of GPRS and EDGE. There is of the 2 completely large “display of the Pixel 240×320 in 16 million colors, plus a primary education camera of 2 megapixel (with the flash) and secondary to call visual, extensible memory of microSD (until 2GB), Bluetooth, player of multi-media and a FM radio.

Superior all what, the traditional one of Nokia 6120 are also a smartphone of Symbian S60 (thus you can add your own applications). It is an impressive package for a compound which weighs so much little. Better of all, Nokia evaluate 6120 the traditional one with approximately €260/£160 before tax and subsidy, which makes with this a particularly good value for money compound. The support of HSDPA on the traditional one of Nokia 6120 leaves speeds of remote loading of until 3Mbps or thus, and the possibilities with two bands of UMTS mean that it can be employed in the United States as well as Europe. the support of Quadruple-band GSM means that you can employ it far from the networks of UMTS rather much anywhere in the world.

On the whole, the combination of the data, the support of multi-media, the camera and the screen at high speed is very impressive and it will deliver all the majority of need for the consumers. It is worth the sorrow to still mention the weight – the 89 grams of traditional of Nokia 6120 is 10 grams lighter that the popular 6230i, 21 grams beating flat seam of lighter that the 3G 6233 and only one grams heavier than basic Nokia 5070 .

There are some disadvantages. There is no Jump-Port on the bottom from traditional the 6120 (thus with him will not equip with a standard kit of car), talktime is only 2.4 hours on 3G and 3.1 hours on GSM (which is good enough for the majority of the people). Some could find it to look at a little soft too. But, as we said earlier, it is completely possible that the traditional one of Nokia 6120 is the best telephone than Nokia ever made when you take account of the combination of the devices and the price. We think that it one is intended to be a higher salesman.

Word of Nokia which it traditional 6120 should be provided by the end of Q2 2007.

Nokia 6110 is very similar to Nokia 6280 or new slide blocks of Nokia E65. There is of the 2.2 “display of the Pixel 240×320, camera primary education of 2 megapixel, extensible memory of microSD and Bluetooth. In terms of possibilities of the telephone 3G, Nokia 6110 is a pretty average device. Naturally, not much of other telephones the GPS and SatNav have!

It is an inexpensive manner to obtain a system of GPS, but a critical problem with the 6110 is that Nokia N95 has appreciably more sophisticated compound. In particular, N95 fôlatre of the 2.6 “display (compared with the 2.2” out of the 6110), has a camera and WiFi of 5 megapixel.

Nokia 6110 Navigator specification:
Bluetooth:Yes
Memory card:microSD
Infra-red:No
Polyphonic:Yes
Java:Yes
Battery life:2.5 hours talk / 11 days standby

Don’t let the “6110″ model number fool you into thinking that this is a low end phone.. in fact at €450 before tax and subsidy, the Nokia 6110 Navigator is only around €100 cheaper than the N95. The Nokia 6110 Navigator doesn’t appear to be a bad device, but if you can afford a little extra money then we’d suggest looking at the Nokia N95 instead.

There’s a comprehensive multimedia player and stereo Bluetooth support. Motorola’s press department chose to illustrate the RIZR Z8’s multimedia capabilities by slapping on a picture of Johnny Depp for some reason.

Symbian is a little bit of an unusual choice for Motorola. Most of their recent smartphones, including the promising looking ROKR E6 have been Linux devices. Although Motorola have used Symbian in the past, we had almost assumed that they had dropped the operating system entirely.

Motorola RIZR Z8 Specification:
Network:GSM + UMTS
Data:GPRS + UMTS + HSDPA
Infra-red:No
Polyphonic:Yes

The RIZR Z8 is a 3G Symbian smartphone with HSDPA (up to 3.6Mbit/sec), 90Mb of internal memory expandable to 4GB using microSD cards, a 2 megapixel primary camera and an impressive maximum talktime of 5 hours while on 3G.

It’s hard to be enthusiastic about the Motorola RIZR Z8 though, because it’s really just a 3G version of the RIZR, and that’s just a RAZR clamshell phone.

It’s an HSDPA capable 3.5G smartphone, with download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps (where supported), plus UMTS (3G), EDGE and GPRS, but the Samsung F700 does not appear to support WiFi.

The Samsung F700 will be officially announced at next week’s 3GSM World Congress, but Samsung have given us a brief glimpse of the specifications of this upcoming device in advance.

The SGH-F700’s landscape/portrait mode and slide-out QWERTY keyboard are reminiscent of HTC devices such as the TyTN, but it is quite rare to see other manufacturers with this type of form factor. The Samsung F700 has a 2.8″ 440×240 pixel display which is slightly better than most competing smartphones which have just 320×240 pixels. However, it still can’t compete with the 800×480 pixel display in the Nokia N800. The screen is touch-sensitive, which explains the lack of external controls (apart from the keyboard, of course).

Samsung haven’t said which operating system the SGH-F700 uses. Normally, we’d expect a device of this type to be running a version of Windows, but Samsung’s custom drag-and-drop user interface would seem to indicate that it is something else. Samsung have been shipping Linux smartphones in China for a while, so perhaps the F700 is a Linux device. There’s a full set of multimedia software, a web browser, email client and a document viewer too.

Although Samsung haven’t specified how much the F700 weighs, they have specified its size as a fairly compact 104 x 50 x 16mm. Underneath is a tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz and UMTS 2100 MHz device with GPRS, EDGE and HSDPA data support. The F700 also comes with Bluetooth and a microSD memory slot.

The specification of the K618i already – it’s a very lightweight 3G phone weighing just 89 grams with a 2 megapixel camera, expandable memory (using Memory Stick Micro cards) with a 256Mb card included, it has Bluetooth and of course an MP3 player.

The K618i’s display is only a 176×220 pixel unit, but this is an acceptable trade-off for the handset’s light weight and it will be good enough for most people. Overall, the K618i shows typically stylish Sony Ericsson design – it’s a smart looking device that is pretty unmistakable in its origins.
