The new Motorola RAZR2 V9 looks very similar to RAZR V8 but it’s just little thicker. The RAZR2 V9 has 3G capability with HSDPA support which giving maximum download speed 3.6 Mbps. It’s not the 1st HSDPA phone RAZR but Motorola have been early adopted 3.5 G technology in their clamshell devices.

As the same with V8, the Motorola RAZR2 V9 has a very large display 2.0″ with 240×320 pixel. Combined with touch screen and haptic/tactile feedback. It’s mean many of the V9’s function can be controlled from the external display. The 2.0 inch display on the RAZR2 V8 and V9 are the largest external display on any phone that ever seen before.

As RAZR2 V8, V9’s camera disappointed. It’s only have 2 megapixel with no autofocus or flash ans also the video has only low resolution 176×144 pixels. And the RAZR V9 feature video calling reveal only one camera for 3G. And we can not use video calls using external camera and screen.

The design phone is to be tough with stainless steel casing around the internal casis to make it strong and the external display has been coat to resist from scratching.

Motorola RAZR2 V9 specification:
Network:GSM + UMTS
Data:GPRS + EDGE + UMTS (3G) + HSDPA
Screen:240×320 pixels, 262k colours (main), 240×320 pixels, 262k colours (sub)
Camera: 2 megapixels
Size:Slim clamshell, 103 x 53 x 13mm
Bluetooth:Yes
Memory card:microSD
Infra-red:No
Polyphonic:Yes
Java:Yes
Battery life:Not specified

Whenever there’s a same feature with V8, RAZR2 V9 have many others improvement with their interface, voice recognition, feedback, a web browser, email client and other applications.

Motorola say that the V8 and V9 should be available in certain markets from July 2007.

The RAZR MAXX has EDGE support as well as HSDPA. It’s a highly competitive handset: the RAZR MAXX comes with a 2.2″ 320×240 pixel display, 2 megapixel camera, video calling, 50Mb of internal memory plus Bluetooth, a multimedia and touch-sensitive external media controls.

The maximum download rate with HSDPA is quoted as 3.6Mbps, although coverage limitations will apply. At the maximum rate, the RAZR MAXX’s HSDPA capabilities will be ten times faster than standard 3G.

At 104×53x15mm and 105 grams in weight, the RAZR MAXX is pretty compact for a 3G device, but in fact most of the recent HSDPA devices have been equally impressive. In fact, there’s very little to differentiate the RAZR MAXX from Samsung ZV50 and the BenQ-Siemens EF91 in size and weight terms, although the RAZR MAXX is arguably the better looking device.

Motorola RAzor MAXX specification:
Network: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 + UMTS + HSDPA
Data: GPRS + EDGE + UMTS + HSDPA
Screen: 240×320 pixels, 256k colours
Camera: 2 megapixels (main)
Size: Medium clamshell 104×53x15mm / 105 grams
Bluetooth: Yes
Memory card: microSD
Infra-red: No
Polyphonic: Yes
Java: Yes
Battery life:Not known

The exterior is made from a hardened class compound, which certainly gives the RAZR MAXX a distinctive finish. Although, in truth we wonder how much prospective users care about looks when the main purpose of an HSDPA handset is to attain fast download speeds.
