I-O Data Japan release a new external HDD which named HDJ-HSU with built-in encryption data. The I-O Data HDJ-HSU protection with 256-bit AES key to protect unauthorized access.

This portable HDD from I-O Data has dimension 46×223x155-mm with weight only 1.6kg (include active cooling system). You can connect it via USB 2.0 port to computers. The price of 500GB has price $139, 1TB ($187), 1.5GB ($246) and 2TB ($496).

Seagate release 2.5-inch portable HDD FreeAgent Go with capacity 750GB, 880GB and 1TB. Also Seagate release DockStar STDSA10G-RK NAS adapter – the docking station for network access.

The DockStar adapter can open the files at FreeAgent Go HDD via remote access over ethernet. It can be used to connect up to 3 USB drives. The FreeAgent Go can be connected separately via USB port and also come with backup software.

LG enter the competition for portable HDD by release LG XD3 which is capable to store data up to 500GB. The XD2 has rubber-pad to provide impact protection.

The thickness only 13mm and this portable storage is extremely light. The port already support SATA II USB 2.0 to connect to the computer or laptop. And LG want to lauch the 320GB version which is available in Europe market and North America for the price only $90.
