Samsung has been launch SGH-F520 with different looking handset with very large 3 inch touch sensitive display. The resolution is 480×272 pixel with work in portrait or landscape mode.

Samsung F520 is not just a touchscreen phone but come impressive 2 way slider mechanism which offer number keys in 1 direction with QWERTY keypad. At the first time the look of F520 is similar to Apple iPhone and LG Prada but the size is between of two phones.

With 3G support and HSDPA, Samsung SGH-F520 have capability download speed with 3.5 G coverage and not like Prada or iPhone with only 3G connection. The camera with 3 megapixel is better than both of phone and the memory can be expanded with microSD cards.

Multimedia player can support MP3, AAC and Real format, with other feature like email client, chatting, web browser and document viewer. The F520 is lack of WiFi but come with good resolution like Nokia N800. The battery is not specified yet with no price. I hope it come between the price of LG Prada and Apple iPhone.

The Nokia E51 new entry-level phone from Nokia in the E-Series, replace the Nokia E50. The E51 is highly specified handset compared with most of the Nokia range, however the new features which is included in the E51 really significant to take the E-series of handsets to the next level.

With Symbian S60 3rd Edition smartphone, the Nokia E51 is a quad-band GSM 850/900/1900/1900 MHz phone with dual band UMTS 850/2100 MHz. The Nokia E51 now adds UMTS (3G) and HSDPA (3.5G) plus WiFi. It makes the E51 useful as an accessory for a laptop, and the WiFi also opens up the possibility of using the handset for voice over IP (VOIP).

The 130MB of internal memory expandable in E51 with a microSD slot, Bluetooth and of course all the usual features you’d expect from a Nokia. There’s also an FM radio and a multimedia player.

With only 100 grams, the Nokia E51 is pretty light for a 3G phone with WiFi and a QVGA display. Talktime has disappointing four and a half hours or so, we don’t know if that’s on 3G or 2G though. Standby time is around 13 days.

The Nokia E51 will be priced around €350 before tax and subsidy, comes in Silver, Black and Rose colour combinations and should be available during Q4 2007.

Samsung has been release SGH-E950 the slim sliding phone on the market with 3 megapixel and 80MB internal memory. When see Samsung E950 I guess it’s an upgrade cell phone from Samsung E900. The TFT display with QVGA (240×320 pixel) has 262,000 colors display.

Samsung E950 just 15.2 millimeter thickness and will be confuse for the similar name Samsung SGH-E590. Feature with tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz and EDGE, E950’s micro SD can be expanded until 2GB. Although the E950 looks similar with other Samsung sliding phone, but the touch pad is sensitive. The pad have shortcut key for Yahoo! unfortunately the sleek of Samsung E950 is not really live up standard like LG Chocolate.

SGH-E950 also completely with we browser, email client and multimedia player. The price around US$ 450 and already available on the market.[ Via mobilegazette ]

Unlike conventional sliders with a simply up/down mechanism, the RIZR Z8 curves inwards so that it is more ergonomic to use, rather like a clamshell phone.

There’s a comprehensive multimedia player and stereo Bluetooth support. Motorola’s press department chose to illustrate the RIZR Z8’s multimedia capabilities by slapping on a picture of Johnny Depp for some reason.

Symbian is a little bit of an unusual choice for Motorola. Most of their recent smartphones, including the promising looking ROKR E6 have been Linux devices. Although Motorola have used Symbian in the past, we had almost assumed that they had dropped the operating system entirely.

Motorola RIZR Z8 Specification:
Network:GSM + UMTS
Data:GPRS + UMTS + HSDPA
Screen:240×320 pixels, 16m colours
Camera:2 megpixels
Size:Medium slider, Size/weight tbc
Bluetooth:Yes
Memory card:microSD
Infra-red:No
Polyphonic:Yes
Java:Yes
Battery life:Not specified

The RIZR Z8 is a 3G Symbian smartphone with HSDPA (up to 3.6Mbit/sec), 90Mb of internal memory expandable to 4GB using microSD cards, a 2 megapixel primary camera and an impressive maximum talktime of 5 hours while on 3G.

It’s hard to be enthusiastic about the Motorola RIZR Z8 though, because it’s really just a 3G version of the RIZR, and that’s just a RAZR clamshell phone.

One of the first three handsets to be launched under the BenQ-Siemens brand, the S88 is a substantially better handset than many we’ve seen from the Siemens camp recently. Pitched at the upper-midrange market, the BenQ-Siemens S88 competes directly against the likes of the Sony Ericsson K750i.

Both the S88 and K750i feature a 2 megapixel camera with LED flash, a 176×220 pixel 262,000 colour display, expandable memory (microSD on the S88), MP3/multimedia player and Bluetooth.

Both handsets have good battery life (7.5 hours talktime for the S88, 9.0 for the K750i). Both weigh around the same (105 grams for the BenQ-Siemens S88, 99 grams for the Sony Ericsson K750i). Both are similar sizes and colours too

It’s pretty clear that BenQ-Siemens intend to pitch the S88 directly against the SE K750i – a handset that has been very popular with users. It’s impossible to say at the moment how the S88 will compare against the competition, as the quality of the S88’s camera and screen are unknown at this point. A lot will be riding on price – really, BenQ-Siemens need to sell the S88 at a significantly lower price than the K750i in order to compete – we think that the S88 should be pitched at around €320 before taxes and subsidy, compared to around €370 for the Sony Ericsson.

On paper, the BenQ-Siemens S88 looks like a pretty good phone – but in the past, BenQ handsets have often proved to be pretty poor in quality terms when they come to market. By competing against the K750i, the S88 is going up against one of the best phones on the market (in our opinion) – which will be a difficult market segment to crash.

Samsung SGH-X830 is probably one of the most interesting phones that we’ve seen this year.

It’s a very distinctive handset to look at, measuring just 84×30x20mm and coming in at 72 grams. Then there’s the Samsung X830’s unusual 128×220 pixel display and a distinctive circular control pad (more of which later).

Internal memory is a huge 1Gb although there’s no expansion slot, however 1Gb is probably enough for almost everyone. The Samsung X830 has a USB 2.0 connection, so this means that data can be transferred quickly enough to make it viable to transfer large amounts of data. Samsung say that up to 330 tracks (at 3Mb per file), although in our experience MP3 tracks are about 4Mb each and it’s best to allow 64Mb per album, but even with our figures the Samsung X830 will hold 250 tracks or 15 albums.

It’s a rotator phone – the Samsung X830 has a narrow numeric keypad hidden behind it’s narrow fascia, so it’s much more conventional than the Nokia 7380. It also comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera and Bluetooth, and of course there’s a multimedia player capable of playing MP3, AAC and WMA media formats. The SGH-X830 comes in a variety of colours – black, white, orange and pink. The pink version will be the first in many markets.

At first glance, it appears to be a rotator control (as with the iPod), but in fact it actually seems to be a conventional selector pad. The screenshots in Samsung’s publicity photos indicate that the SGH-X830 is pretty conventional here, using screen prompts to guide the user to the relevant selector pad functions.

The Samsung SGH-X830 has EDGE data support but as you’d expect it’s just too tiny a phone for 3G or WiFi. There are all the usual features you’d expect to find too, such as PC synchronisation, Java and some PIM tools.

The Sony Ericsson M600i is a 3G phone with tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900), expandable memory (using Memory Stick Micro cards), plus a full range of applications including the Opera web browser, an email client, and multimedia player. Plus the M600i comes with a jog-dial control in addition to the touchscreen, as does the larger P900 series.

It supports a variety of push email applications too, such as BlackBerry and Visto, and it comes with a range of different VPN clients in order to connect to a corporate network. It can also edit Microsoft Office document. These features give us a clue as to the most likely market for the M600i – business users. One key feature that the M600i doesn’t have is a digital camera – it can’t take stills photos, video clips, nor can it be used for video calling.

This is great for many corporate customers, but it means that the M600i isn’t as consumer orientated as some might have hoped for. Still, it looks like a very promising phone for business use. There’s no WiFi either, but we firmly believe that 3G is more useful that WiFi in this type of device.

When it comes to battery life though, it’s clear that the 3G support drains the life out of the battery pretty quickly. On UMTS (3G) talktime is only 2.5 hours, with 10 days standby. Turn off 3G and use plain old GSM and it’s a whopping 7.5 hours talktime and 14 days standby.

Finally, the M600i looks the part too. It’s a classic Sony Ericsson design, harking back to the T630i (which we regard as one of the most attractive phones ever made). It’s relatively slim too, at 15mm thick.

The Sony Ericsson M600i should start to ship worldwide in Q2 2006, with different keyboard arrangements for those countries that do not use a “QWERTY” layout. There’s also an M600c for mainland China.

This unassuming looking handset is, in fact, the smallest and lightest 3G phone that we’ve ever seen. Weighing just 85 grams, the SGH-Z330 comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera, a secondary camera for video calling, 1.9″ 176×220 pixel display, 140Mb of embedded non-expandable memory, Bluetooth, an MP3/multimedia player, email client and web browser. Although some features have been sacrificed to make the SGH-Z330 a lightweight device, it’s still an impressive little handset, with a decent enough camera and plenty of memory to be useful.

In styling terms, it’s a very conservative handset in a classic Samsung style. Unlike some other recent Samsung handsets, this retains the curves of earlier clamshell phones giving it a softer look. This light weight probably comes at the expense of battery life, although Samsung have not published figures for this phone (nor indeed most of their other handsets announced at 3GSM)
