This is not just a little resemble a Blackberry, the Portege G710 is designed exactly the same market as devices such as the BlackBerry 8130 the Portégé stands out, however, that it runs on Windows Mobile, and it is possible using the device with Microsoft Exchange Server to Push E-mail.

This is not a 3G phone – Toshiba Portege G710 is a quad-band GSM device with GPRS and EDGE. There is no WiFi. Although the high-speed data is a nice thing to have, there was really no need for e-mail and Toshiba G710 should include just fine when it comes to messaging.

At 115 x 62 x 13mm and 130 grams in weight, the G710 is quite similar to that of the competition, although a little thinner than most. The 1050 mAh battery, the player G710 for up to 3 hours of talk time and 8 days of standby. Windows Mobile is rather the power of brain cells quickly enough, so that the life of the battery on the G710 is not as good as some of the non-compete.

The 2.46 inch with 320 x 240 pixel screen is pretty standard for this type of aircraft, even if the lack of a touch screen can be irritating, if equipped with a satellite navigation package. On the back of page 2 is a megapixel camera, G710 and memory expandable supports microSD It also comes with Bluetooth phones USB 1.1 and 1.2 connectivity.

No specific release date is known, but we understand that the G710 will be available in early March for about € 220 / £ 150 before taxes, and all holders of subsidies.

The Nokia E51 new entry-level phone from Nokia in the E-Series, replace the Nokia E50. The E51 is highly specified handset compared with most of the Nokia range, however the new features which is included in the E51 really significant to take the E-series of handsets to the next level.

With Symbian S60 3rd Edition smartphone, the Nokia E51 is a quad-band GSM 850/900/1900/1900 MHz phone with dual band UMTS 850/2100 MHz. The Nokia E51 now adds UMTS (3G) and HSDPA (3.5G) plus WiFi. It makes the E51 useful as an accessory for a laptop, and the WiFi also opens up the possibility of using the handset for voice over IP (VOIP).

The 130MB of internal memory expandable in E51 with a microSD slot, Bluetooth and of course all the usual features you’d expect from a Nokia. There’s also an FM radio and a multimedia player.

With only 100 grams, the Nokia E51 is pretty light for a 3G phone with WiFi and a QVGA display. Talktime has disappointing four and a half hours or so, we don’t know if that’s on 3G or 2G though. Standby time is around 13 days.

The Nokia E51 will be priced around €350 before tax and subsidy, comes in Silver, Black and Rose colour combinations and should be available during Q4 2007.

LG has been launch LG KS20, a touchscreen phone running Windows Mobile. This is a 3G phone with WiFi, Bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera with flash on the back. The LG KS20 also has microSD expandable memory.

The KS20 isn’t just a 3G phone, it’s a 3.5G HSDPA device. With the large touchscreen 2.8″ panel, the LG KS20 is competing with the upcoming European version of the Apple iPhone, and ironically the new LG KU990 “Viewty” touchscreen phone.

With 240 x 320 pixel display, and the rumor is that the LG KS20 is 12.8mm thick which would make the handset around 92 x 55mm when viewed from the front. One slightly strange feature is the large expanse of plastic that appears to be underneath the screen.

LG KS20 expected in the shops by Christmas, although pricing and availability are not known at present.

With large touch screen 2.6 inch with 240×320 pixel resolution, it’s a minimalist phone design. As Samsung P310 with carry case to protect the handset and it’s look more stylish phone.

Closely related to the Samsung F300, the Samsung F500 is a dual-face multimedia 3G phone with a “multimedia side” and “phone side”. However, the SGH-F500 is much more than a standard music phone.. this handset is designed to play videos and, optionally, receive digital TV broadcasts (according to Samsung).

The Samsung F500 receives digital TV transmissions using the DVB-H standard, as does the Samsung P910 and overdue Nokia N92. We don’t know if there will be a version of the SGH-F500 supporting the rival T-DMB platform, nor do we know if the DVB-H receiver is an add-on or will be included as standard in some F500 variants. (See our writeup on the Nokia N92 for a brief explanation of DVB-H).

Another unusual feature of the SGH-F500 is that it supports the DivX video codec, combined with a built-in audio player. This enables the Samsung F500 to play back MP3, AAC, WMA, DivX, MPEG4,H.264, WMV, WMDRM/MTP, DivX DRM, and OMA DRM media types. Yes, that’s a bit of an alphabet soup.. put it this way, the Samsung F500 is probably the most versatile media player we’ve seen to date.

Perhaps the SGH-F500 can be considered as the follow-on device from the Samsung P900 / P910 models, but it’s a much more elegant design. Samsung have designed the F500 so that it can be placed on a flat surface, rather that the P900/P910 which is a handheld device.

The Sony Ericsson K610im is an i-mode version of the lightweight K610i 3G phone. It’s an incredibly light 3G phone, weighing just 89 grams, but it still manages to fit in a 176×220 pixel display, 2 megapixel camera and Memory Stick Micro expandable memory.

As far as we know, this is Sony Ericsson’s first i-mode phone and it’s one of only a few 3G i-mode phones around. And since the K610im is based on one of the hottest 3G phones of 2006, then it’s an attractive option for i-mode users.

The K610im is almost identical to the K610, except it comes with a dedicated i-mode key and carries a discrete “i” on the back of the handset. It’s a “Carbon Black” phone, rather than the “Urban Silver” and “Evening Red” K610i. All other technical characteristics are identical.

Whether or not you actually want i-mode is a different matter – some markets have been more successful than others, and i-mode operators are still trying to find the “killer application” that will make i-mode indispensable. But, if it’s i-mode you’re after, then the K610im looks to be an excellent choice.

The Samsung Z650i is pretty lightweight for a 3G phone, and it still manages to pack a full set of features in, such as stereo Bluetooth, microSD expandable memory, a 2 megapixel camera with flash, an MP3/AAC player, web browser and email client and everything else you’d expect to find.

The specification of the K618i already – it’s a very lightweight 3G phone weighing just 89 grams with a 2 megapixel camera, expandable memory (using Memory Stick Micro cards) with a 256Mb card included, it has Bluetooth and of course an MP3 player.

The K618i’s display is only a 176×220 pixel unit, but this is an acceptable trade-off for the handset’s light weight and it will be good enough for most people. Overall, the K618i shows typically stylish Sony Ericsson design – it’s a smart looking device that is pretty unmistakable in its origins.

Network: GSM 900/1800/1900 + UMTS 2100
Bluetooth: Yes
Memory card: Memory Stick Micro
Infra-red: No
Polyphonic: Yes
Java: Yes
Battery life: Not specified

It’s just that it’s yet another variant of the K610i in addition to the V630 and K610im. The difference between these handsets is cosmetic – they’re just available for different carriers.

Sony Ericsson K610i is probably the lightest 3G phone to date, weighing just 92 grams – and yet it still packs in a substantial number of features.

The K610i comes with a 2 megapixel digital camera, 176×220 pixel display in 262,000 colours, a secondary camera for video calling, expandable memory using Sony Memory Stick Micro cards, a multimedia player (plus the same Disc2Phone software found in the Walkman series of handsets), web browser, email client and all the usual features you’d expect to find in this type of device.

The replacement for the K600 series, the confusingly named K610i is very similar to the 2G Sony Ericsson K750i, although it manages to be lighter than even the K750, which is in impressive feat.

Physically, the Sony Ericsson K610i measures 102×45x17mm, weighs 92 grams and has up to 7 hours talktime on GSM, 2.5 hours on 3G. On top of UMTS 2100, the K610i comes with GSM 900/1800/1900 support.

There are two colour combinations promised, Urban Silver and Evening Red. In terms of design, the K610i is a classic Sony Ericsson handset, featuring a straightforward and pretty minimal layout on the front and a nicely designed back (the Sony Ericsson “dual front” concept). And as we said, it’s an impressive achievement to squeeze all of this into a 92 gram device, and it looks smart too.
