Sony PRS-505 eBook Reader With Epub Format
For those who like to read books, especially with an electronic book reader, Sony announced yesterday that their eBook Reader, the PRS-505, can now read format Epub. According to the manufacturer, it is the first device reading electronic books to support Epub format.
This new update will allow you to access the security and non-secure ebooks Epub format. In addition, the PRS-505 will support Adobe eBooks with DRM (reflow PDF) and Adobe Digital Editions. The PRS-505 is available in red (James Patterson Special Edition), Black, Silver and color for 190 €.
The Digital Book Reader Sony is a portable device for reading electronic books. Its high-resolution display electronic paper offers a realistic look printing rivals traditional paper and uses a minimum of power. One battery provides up to 7500 pages of reading continues.
The Reader sells for about $ 300 and comes with a USB cable; eBook Library software and a color coordinated, flexible coverage of protection.

My e-book screen broke in the first week for no apparent reason. Sony didn’t want to back-up their product. Fortunately VISA insurance is looking like they might (they give coverage for the first 45 days). I googled this problem and found that there are people who have had the screen break in the 1st 5 minutes (!). This is a lovely gadget and easy to read from but it is very vulnerable. The Sony people told me I was
properly warned in the literature that comes with the book. While it is a lovely gadget people should be wary of placing them in a
briefcase or purse and be sure not to set anything (like another book on top of them).
My e-book did not receive maltreatment but
the screen was vulnerable all the same. Even though I bought an extended warranty
this did not cover the screen. My ebook was
sent to a repair depot where they looked at the screen, said I was responsible, and told me that it would cost $50 for them to open it up and give a repair estimate. Thus this machine needs to be cared for with great caution.
I’ve had my Sony PRS-505 for a couple of days now and I love it.
I got it from the UK online book store, waterstones.com. Their selection of eBooks is quite limited but the eReader they are selling has the July firmware update that allows Secure Adobe Reader 7 (and above) files to be read. This means that users with the July update can download and read files from other eBook stores such as fictionwise.com and others.
