    Sony Ericsson W302 Walkman Phone

    September 4, 2008 | Cellular Phone, Sony Ericsson | 1 Comment

It has been three years since the launch of the first Sony Ericsson Walkman phone, the W800. Since then, there have been nearly 30 different Walkman-branded devices, mostly adding new and exciting features as technology advances.

The W800 is a very good phone and a very large number of them are still there today. Certainly, compared to a modern aircraft W800 seems to be fairly modest, but it certainly has always done what it was designed to do. So it is perhaps not surprising to see the new Sony Ericsson W302, a device that corresponds to the former W800 closely in terms of basic specifications.

sony-ericsson-w302iIt is a quad-band GSM with GPRS and EDGE, a 2″ 176 x 220 pixels, a 2-megapixel camera, Memory Stick Micro expandable memory (with 512 MB in the standard sales package) and an FM radio. It is much more compact than the original W800 – measuring 100 x 46 x 10.5 mm and weighing 78 grams – which means that the W302 is about half the thickness and the W800 is 21 grams lighter. The W302 also supports stereo Bluetooth, the process of identification, comes with a Web browser and mail client and a USB cable so that it can be connected to a PC.

Sony Ericsson gave no indication on prices, but the W302 is likely to be very cheap when it hits the stores in the 4th quarter of 2008. Two color combinations available: Midnight Black and white sparkling.
