Samsung Solid SGH-M110 Though Phone
On 2008 Samsung announce a new cell phone Samsung SGH-M110 and also called Samsung Solid. The phone is highly resistant to dust and water splashes. Samsung Solid also able to withstand 1 meter drop into a concrete surface too.
Most of the protection is provided by the thick envelope of rubber that seals the M110 effectively against the elements and provides shock adsorbing properties. Clad in either a black or olive green housing, the M110 / Solid is a bit more moderate than it JCB brand competition. It is a smaller and much lighter than the camera TOUGHPHONE too, only 95 grams compared with 130 grams for its rival.
The display 1.5 inch 128 x 128 pixel CSTN display come with Bluetooth, an FM radio, WAP browser 2.0, a VGA resolution (0.3 megapixels) camera with flash. A large battery capacity, which gives the M110 an impressive 8 hours duration with a maximum of 16 days in standby mode.
The M110 and most competitions are quite underwhelming in terms of technical features. It would be nice to see this kind of shock adsorber superior design specification on devices – someone who has tried to bounce a Nokia N95 on a concrete floor.
