Some DVD+RWs/DVD+Rs, DVD-RWs/DVD-Rs, or CD-Rs/ CD-RWs cannot be played on this player due to the recording quality or physical condition of the disc, or the characteristics of the recording device and authoring software. The DVD disc will not play if it has not been correctly
finalized. For more information, refer to the operating instructions for the recording device. Note that some playback functions may not work with some DVD+RWs/DVD+Rs, even if they have been correctly finalized. In this case, view the disc by normal playback.
The AVCHD format is a high definition digital video camera format used to record SD (standard definition) or HD (high definition) signals of either the 1080i specification*1 or the 720p specification*2 on DVDs, using efficient data compression coding technology. The MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format is adopted to compress video data, and the Dolby Digital or Linear PCM system is used to compress audio data. The MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format is capable of compressing images at higher efficiency than that of the conventional image compressing format. The MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format enables a high definition (HD) video signal shot on a digital video camera recorder to be recorded on DVD discs, in the same way as it would be for a standard definition (SD) television signal.
