my honeywell thermostat often resets itself to heat at 70 degrees. Drives us wild as we are trying to save money and leave some zones set to 50 degrees. Can we change the default heating temperature? Help!

I bought this thing with a new heating ac system some 18 months ago. What a piece of crap. It is tooo smart and tries to do too much. It measures the wall temperature and matches that against the air temperature to get a more “reliable” reading. What a joke that is, first, if its an outside wall you are screwed, second, it will run heat or ac until the WALL reaches the desired temperature. Thats ok if you never setback but if the wall gets cold during the night, the next morning, heat will run like crazy until the stupid wall warms up.
I have seen the dumb thing calling for heat even when the displayed temperature is three degrees above the setpoint with no end in sight.
The pre heat function was so bad, I finally turned that off. It started the heat 5 hours before I wanted to get up, baking me in my bed in the process.
Tech support is some Indian company where they barely speak English, email replies are canned and worthless.
Forget this piece of crap and just get a regular setback thermostat. All the bells and whistles are just gimmicks that don’t work.
