I bought a Nikon Coolpix L18 a few months ago, and I'm very pleased.
It uses regular "AA" batteries which I can get anywhere and they are very inexpensive. Not only that, the L18 is very conservative on the amount of battery it uses (unlike my previous HP M525) and you can change the battery settings to Alkaline or NiMH.
I give the L18 a 9 out of 10 stars.
