Motorola V1100 3G Phone Preview

The Motorola V1100 is a RAZR-like 3G phone with HSDPA (3G broadband), exclusive to the Vodafone network, and due to be in the shops by Christmas.
From what we know of the V1100′s specifications, it’s almost exactly the same as the RAZR XX with a 1.3 megapixel camera and a slightly different case. We assume that it has a QVGA 240×320 pixel display.
The “V1100″ tag is a little odd, but it’s worth remembering that the RAZR V3x was originally called the Motorola V1150 motorola-v1150.htm. As the V1150/RAZR V3x had a better camera, the V1100 name makes some sense. 1.3 megapixels is a bit lame these days, especially on an HSDPA phone.
Motorola V1100 specification:

Do we need another HSDPA RAZR? No. In fact, we’ve had quite enough RAZR variants from Motorola to last us a lifetime. And frankly, the V1100 is a pretty lame excuse for an “exclusive handset” anyway.. in fact many of Vodafone’s recent “exclusives” have been tweaks of existing devices.
There are better HSDPA phones coming onto the market than this.. there are better RAZR-style HSDPA phones too. Unless Vodafone are prepared to offer the V1100 at a bargain price, you’d be better off with the RAZR MAXX instead.
