Motorola KRZR K1 Black Silver Quartz Variant
March 12, 2011 | Cellular Phone, Gadgets, Motorola | 1 CommentThe Motorola KRZR K1 has only been out for a little while, but it seems that Motorola have already got some colour variants in the pipeline for those people who find the original KRZR a bit too exciting – in this case Motorola have come up with a Black and Silver Quartz variant.

Presumably Motorola will do their usual trick later and release yet more colours, so you may have to wait a little while for puce, topaz or cinnabar colours. (OK, we’re making those up, but the Motorola V3x is available in pumpkin.)
While the KRZR had plenty of hype backing it, it hasn’t been around quite long enough to get Motorola’s oh-so-typical color-changing treatment (a dash of white notwithstanding), but that’s apparently about to change. While details aren’t certain just yet, it looks like the company may have two new variants coming down the pike for “Q4 2006″ (just in time for the holidays?), but all specs should remain exactly as they current are. Purportedly aiming to hit the market in both black and “silver quartz,” the newfangled KRZRs are actually fairly mild considering some of the variations we’ve seen, but we all know that lime green, fairly tale pink, and candy apple red are (probably) waiting just around the corner.
Of course, only the colour has changed. Underneath, the KRZR still has a 2 megapixel camera, 176×220 pixel display, Bluetooth, expandable memory and a multimedia player.
If you like this type of handset, but your still using a V3i or original V3 versions, then the KRZR is worth considering. In fact, the original RAZR V3 was such an awful handset then anything on the market will be better.
Pricing and availability are not known at present, but it’s most likely that these new colour variants will be available by Christmas.
