MIS Specification Review

Maybe most of us are still new with MIS. McGrath Info Solution (MIS) is a text files that gives users metadata about a video, an audio or even an image file. They build “The standard in multimedia metadata” on any type of object (Audio, Video, DVD, Word processor, Comic book…) on any media and on any operating system.

All of the user with electronic device who have DVD player, Media Player or MP3 player can get a lot of benefit from MIS. It’s only 1 text based file for most information (title, description, credit, notes, chapter…). User have a safeguard information when they re-encoding in another format and can be read without zigzag effect. Basically they support English, but MIS also support multi lingual (example in French) in the same .MIS file.

If you want to develop or want to buy the license, it’s very cheap only USD 0.01/unit and it’s free for non-commercial uses. Maybe you can try their MIS file and burn it with your own movie on DVD writer. If you have problems you can see their FAQ. It’s cool I think!

For your information, The MIS specification is free for non-commercial projects. Info2MIS (create .MIS) and MIS Info Video (Front End/ media player) is both free.
