How to Transfer Music From iPhone to Mac or PC
Here is the quick steps how to transfer music or files at your iPhone to Mac or PC. Both of them have different way. Because Mac is one of Apple products, you can transfer it without any sofware. And here the steps how to transfer music from your iphone.

1. Transfer Music/Files from iPhone to Mac
Before you transfer the files, please make sure your iTunes has been closed.
- Connect your iPhone to your computer via USB cable. After done, the files names will appear in the Device list.
- Open the library list that you want to export files, and then check the file(s) you want to export in the file list.
- Click the iPod to Mac button to start exporting files. Otherwise, you could also choose the Import to Mac option from the Action menu, and then export the files from your iPhone to your Mac PC.
- When iPod to Mac Transfer is started, it will modify the automatic synchronization of music/video to manual synchronization between iPod and iTunes.
2. Transfer Music/Files from iPhone to PC
There are many sites which give you transfer files like mp3 from iPhone to PC but with Winamp (free software) you can do it without spend money. Here is the steps:
- Close iTunes – if it’s running – and launch Winamp
- Plug your iPhone to the computer with the USB cable.
- Winamp displays a small window called “transfer of metadata.” When that window closes, the iPhone music library will appear on the Winamp Media under “devices”
- Now you can freely copy songs from the iPhone to the computer by selecting the files on the iPhone list and selecting “copy disk drive” in the context menu. Synchronization also works the other way: select the files to your library and transfer them to the iPhone by selecting the “Send” in the context menu.
- When you’re done, eject the iPhone Winamp. Now you’ll have to force the iPhone to reload the song database (otherwise it will use a cache one). Simply launch the application iPod, then press the Home button for about five seconds, until you return to the home screen. Then launch the new iPod tool and your new songs will be transferred there.
I hope the tutorials can help you and thanks to both original source for the great steps.

Hi! Ive tried what you said about transfering music/files from iPhone to PC.
But nothing really happens.
yeap, same here. I tried to open winamp, then connect my iphone. but nothing happens/appears in any of the winamp box. There was no small window appeared as “transfer of metadata”, and nothing appeared on the winamp media under “devices”.. Is there any other way for this? thank you..
Actually, the issue is not from the “I” device to the computer, it is from the computer to the i-phone or i-pod. How to do that?
To copy from PC to iPhone just use iTunes
I downloaded the plugin and that latest winamp. I started winamp after I added the plug and I saw my device in the bottom left conner, so I clicked on my device and to the immediate right there is a song list window (dont know the real name) but I selected all the songs and right clicked and selected copy to hard drive. Since I never used winamp before I need to figure out where the files are going!
I did not see the meta screen pop up, but I did see a transfer screen. Either way the method I used seems to be working!
Okay the default location in C:\ so luckily it copies them over in folders.
To change before you make the mistake that I did, go to Options -> Perferences, IPOD support -> Transfers. See pic http://www.twitpic.com/2pir4
Pod to Mac and Pod to PC are 100% freeware and make this transfer process much much easier. With with all ipods and iphones and let you transfer your music and playlists too.
Nice tips.
I believe these additional tips at http://ipod-tool.com would help you manage your iPhone well
