    How to Connect Laptop to Television

    Today laptop or notebook and television (TV) has improve their features. And sometimes we need connect the laptop into TV and we must know the type of connection between this two devices.

    There are many cable and jacks to connecting laptop to TV and there are 4 common jacks/ports connection. It’s S-Video, VGA, Digital video interface (DVI), composite (RCA) and High-definition multimedia interface (HDMI). And as I know the price for HDMI port is the most expensive rather than the others but the quality images is the mostly perfect.

    1. RCA Connector
    Analog audio and video component. It has standard jacks on older TV and laptop with colors white (left audio), red (right audio), and yellow (composite video).

    2. S-Video
    Also its called super video which looks like a single connection with 4-prong round plug. It’s easy to connect with s-video, you don’t need audio cables but for the better quality you must have it.

    3. VGA Connector
    It’s look like cable for monitor which commonly can be found on laptop. It has 15-pin connector and just plug the VGA cable into the laptop and the other which is connect to TV use S-Video or RCA cable.

    4. DVI Port
    It’s rectangular 24-pins with 3-horizontal rows of 8-pins for digital video. The DVI port separate RCA analog audio cables and fit into white and red plugs. Commonly the DVI port can be found on Macintosh laptop.

    5. HDMI Port
    It has 19 pins and the size around 1.5x of DVI port. The HDMI port provide digital audio in addition to digital video. Usually you can found on new HDTV and you don’t need additional audio cables.
