Corsair release the new USB flash drive called Survivor with capacity 64GB. The Corsair Survivor is the durable flash drive with high capacitance.

The Corsair ultra ruge flash drive made using aircraft-grade aluminum casing and equipped with a cast, shock-absorbing ring sealed, protected from EPDM rubber and waterproof depth up to 200-meters. In 2007 Corsair also release Military Flash Survivor with 8GB capacity.

Samsung Electronics release new 3.5-inch external drive STORY Station featuring the first use of standby power below one watt. The reduced level of backup power easily meets the requirements of EuP of future European Union (Energy Using Products) Directive for the regulation of day, effective January 2010.

Samsung lowers standby power by over 95 percent, to 0.09W from the conventional level of 2.5 W, a move that will reduce CO2 emissions indirectly. Introduction of Samsungs low-power standby mode is the first for any 3.5-inch external hard drive.

Seagate release 2.5-inch portable HDD FreeAgent Go with capacity 750GB, 880GB and 1TB. Also Seagate release DockStar STDSA10G-RK NAS adapter – the docking station for network access.

The DockStar adapter can open the files at FreeAgent Go HDD via remote access over ethernet. It can be used to connect up to 3 USB drives. The FreeAgent Go can be connected separately via USB port and also come with backup software.

I-O Data release a new elegant LAN Disk available in 500GB, 1TB and 1.5TB. The HDL-C Series from I-O Data is a network attached storage (NAS).

The dimension of LAN Disk is 42×195x120-mm with weight 1.5-kg. This shiny white come with Gigabit Ethernet and USB connectivity. Also its bundled by Easy Saver 3.0 backup software. The price of HDL-C NAS Series about $150 (500GB), $209 (1TB) and $268 (1.5TB).

LG Electronics release a new Network Attached Storage (NAS) for consumers looking to protect their files of entertainment media. LGs Network Attached Storage (NAS) N2R1 model uses a proven system of multiple hard drives used for sharing and replicating data to prevent any damage or loss.

With up to 2TB of storage, LG N2R1 provides a wealth of storage capacity, allowing consumers to continue to build digital library of music, movies and other multimedia files. The N2R1 has integrated WiFi connectivity for easy connection to any wireless home network 802.11g.

LG enter the competition for portable HDD by release LG XD3 which is capable to store data up to 500GB. The XD2 has rubber-pad to provide impact protection.

The thickness only 13mm and this portable storage is extremely light. The port already support SATA II USB 2.0 to connect to the computer or laptop. And LG want to lauch the 320GB version which is available in Europe market and North America for the price only $90.

Western Digital release their Scorpio Blue hard drive with 640 GB storage capacity. This Scorpio WD drive series is designed for laptop users and is based on 2.5-inch form factor and uses 320GB-per-plate technology.

Western Digital Company said the new WD Scorpio Blue 640 GB drive has 30 percent of the overall power consumption of the previous generation WD Scorpio Blue drive to achieve best-in-class power and performance, making it a ideal for laptops and other portable devices that require extended battery life and cool, quiet operation. The WD Scorpio Blue 640 GB is available now priced at $ 149.

Buffalo release a new HDD External MiniStation HDS-PHU2 which adds new functionality to its external hard drives, the ability to encrypt the information contains 128bit, adding an extra security in case of loss.

The disc comes with a capacity of 500 GB and contains added preloaded software auto backup and mobile versions of Firefox and Thunderbird. The sale price of the Buffalo MiniStation HDS-PHU2 be around USD 250.
