Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition Review

nokia-8800-siroccoThe Nokia 8800 Sirocco Editio is a fairly minor but useful upgrade of the existing Nokia 8800, replacing the 0.5 megapixel camera in the 8800 with a much more useful 2.0 megapixel device and increasing the internal memory from 64Mb tp 128Mb. There’s also an FM radio, MP3 player and expandable memory.

Motorola RAZR MAXX Review

The RAZR MAXX has EDGE support as well as HSDPA. It’s a highly competitive handset: the RAZR MAXX comes with a 2.2″ 320×240 pixel display, 2 megapixel camera, video calling, 50Mb of internal memory plus Bluetooth, a multimedia and touch-sensitive external media controls.

The maximum download rate with HSDPA is quoted as 3.6Mbps, although coverage limitations will apply. At the maximum rate, the RAZR MAXX’s HSDPA capabilities will be ten times faster than standard 3G.

The Tovo t450g is a hybrid WiFi VOIP / GSM handset, that can work either on a standard mobile network or by using Voice-Over-IP on a suitable wireless ethernet connection.

tovo-t450gAs far as its GSM capabilities are concerned, the Tovo t450g is a basic but practical device with a 128×128 pixel display, 0.3 megapixel (VGA resolution) camera, tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900 support and GPRS. There’s also MMS, SMS and email message capabilities plus some PIM functionality.

Samsung SPH-P9000 Review

The SPH-P9000 is an EV-DO (3G CDMA) device with WiMAX (802.16) support, which means that the SPH-P9000 had high-speed data access wherever it can get a WiMAX or EV-DO signal.

It’s a hefty beast, weighing 560 grams (1lb 2oz in old money), and it measures 143×92x30mm (5.6 x 3.5 x 1.2 inches). There’s a novel folding keyboard, and the main display is a 5″ 800×480 pixel unit, and there’s a 1.3 megapixel camera facing the user. Internal storage consists of a 30Gb hard disk and the SGH-P9000 has Bluetooth too.

Motorola KRZR K1 Black Silver Quartz Variant

The Motorola KRZR K1 has only been out for a little while, but it seems that Motorola have already got some colour variants in the pipeline for those people who find the original KRZR a bit too exciting - in this case Motorola have come up with a Black and Silver Quartz variant.

Presumably Motorola will do their usual trick later and release yet more colours, so you may have to wait a little while for puce, topaz or cinnabar colours. (OK, we’re making those up, but the Motorola V3x is available in pumpkin.)

Nokia N71 Preview

Nokia announced today three new N-Series 3G multimedia cell phones. Along with the Nokia N80 and the Nokia N92 , is the Nokia N71. The N71 will allow users to play music and browse the web “in a completely new way”.

Nokia N92 Series Preview

We have the Nokia N92, an odd-looking but certainly a suitable form factor for video viewing. Nokia N92 support for DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcasting – Handhelds), along with any streams you might catch with the snazz 3G connection.

It’s a dual folder, similar to the Samsung D307, giving you a nice landscape orientation for video viewing on the 2.8-inch, 16 million color, 320 x 240 display. There are once again two cameras available for your snapping pleasure, with 2 megapixels in the high-res one. There is also 802.11g WiFi and the usual Bluetooth and USB 2.0, along with 90MB of storage, expandable through miniSD.
