AMD K10 Barcelona Surprise Bechmark

According to DailyTech, AMD revise their processor K10 with code name “Barcelona”. AMD announce the successfully the server market demonstrated Barcelona but didn’t publish how fast the processor running, the stepping of the processor, the processor thermal and also the ship date.

AMD run the benchmark on a single socket, with 1.6 GHz with NVIDIA nForce Professional 3400 and used 4GB of DDR2-667. The similar system from Intel Xeon 3220 with clocked at 2.4 GHz with Intel Garlow platform (Intel X38). The system utilities run with 4GB of DDR2-800. Both system run Windows 2003 R2, 64 bit platform.

AMD engineers told the DailyTech, the chip that they tested was the latest revision silicon. The same engineers claim 2.0 GHz Barcelona chips are making the rounds with 2.3 GHz on the desktop and server roadmaps. AMD suggest a late July annouch for Barcelona.
