One of the first three handsets to be launched under the BenQ-Siemens brand, the S88 is a substantially better handset than many we’ve seen from the Siemens camp recently. Pitched at the upper-midrange market, the BenQ-Siemens S88 competes directly against the likes of the Sony Ericsson K750i.
Both the S88 and K750i feature a 2 megapixel camera with LED flash, a 176×220 pixel 262,000 colour display, expandable memory (microSD on the S88), MP3/multimedia player and Bluetooth.
Nokia 6085 Review
Published on January 18, 2007 in Cellular Phone, Gadgets, Nokia
(0 Comment)Nokia 6085 is an inexpensive clamshell phone with expandable memory and an MP3 player. It’s a pretty disappointing mix of components that appear to have been thrown together.

Nokia have revise a fairly standard overall look that we’ve seen in other 6000 series clamhshells, and then added a low end 128×160 pixel display and VGA resolution camera. The Nokia 6085 comes with a microSD slot, FM radio, Bluetooth and an MP3 player and usefully it is a quad-band GSM phone.
Samsung SGH-F500 Ultra Video Review

(1 Comment)Closely related to the Samsung F300, the Samsung F500 is a dual-face multimedia 3G phone with a “multimedia side” and “phone side”. However, the SGH-F500 is much more than a standard music phone.. this handset is designed to play videos and, optionally, receive digital TV broadcasts (according to Samsung).

Nokia N75 Clamshell Phone CDMA

It looks familiar, in fact in looks very much like the Nokia 7390 which is aimed at the rest of the world, and indeed they’re both competing for pretty much the same audience but in different markets.
The Nokia N75 is 3G device but unlike European UMTS phones, this only supports the 850/1900 MHz frequencies used in North America, but it’s also a quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 device with EDGE and GPRS so it can be used worldwide. Inside is a 2.4″ 240×320 pixel display in 16 million colours and VGA resolution subcamera, and there’s a 2 megapixel camera on the outside along with a large 1.36″ 128×160 pixel external display and a set of media controls.
Motorola RAZR XX

The Motorola RAZR XX is Motorola’s second HSPDA(3.5G) RAZR handset announced this week, alongside the Motorola RAZR MAXX. Quite why Motorola needed to develop two such similar handsets is a mystery, but here it is anyway.
It looks very much like the RAZR V3i from the outside, but there are subtle differences in the styling that indicates that this isn’t just a V3i with HSDPA crammed into it. To quote Motorola, the RAZR XX has an “updated & streamlined Motorola RAZR V3 design”.
Sony Ericsson K610im i-mode Version
Published on January 14, 2007 in Cellular Phone, Gadgets, Sony Ericsson
(2 Comments)The Sony Ericsson K610im is an i-mode version of the lightweight K610i 3G phone. It’s an incredibly light 3G phone, weighing just 89 grams, but it still manages to fit in a 176×220 pixel display, 2 megapixel camera and Memory Stick Micro expandable memory.

As far as we know, this is Sony Ericsson’s first i-mode phone and it’s one of only a few 3G i-mode phones around. And since the K610im is based on one of the hottest 3G phones of 2006, then it’s an attractive option for i-mode users.
