Motorola RAZR V3i iTune Review

motorola-razr-v3i-closedMotorola V3i would be bronze, but this version has an attractive brushed metal look instead. It’s possible that other colours will follow though - Motorola have also announced the Pink and Blue versions of the RAZR to follow on from the Silver and Black ones.

Nokia 5500 Sport Style

nokia-5500-1The Nokia 5500 Sport is the latest in Nokia’s 5000-series of ruggedised phones, designed to withstand knocks and splashes, and in a way it carries on from the Nokia 5140i, 5140, 5100 and other devices. But it’s not just an existing handset in a rubbery case, the Nokia 5500 Sport has a few interesting technological features that make it stand out.

T-Mobile MDA Compact III

t-mobile-mda-compact-iiiThe T-Mobile MDA Compact III is T-Mobile’s take on the HTC P3300 Windows smartphone with GPS Satellite Navigation. As with the HTC version, the T-Mobile MDA Compact III comes with a GPS receiver and inbuilt satellite navigation.

Functionally almost identical to the P3300, the T-Mobile MDA Compact III comes with a 2.8″ 240×320 pixel touch-sensitive display, GPRS and EDGE data (but no 3G), a 2 megapixel camera, expandable memory, a multimedia player and FM radio. Hello Kitty Themes BenQ-Siemens AL26

benq-siemens-al26-front

It’s not a completely new phone, the AL26 hardware is essentially identical to the Siemens AL21. But even though the AL21 was a basic phone, it scored well in terms of design and usability, so the BenQ-Siemens AL26 has been built on a good platform.

The BenQ-Siemens AL26 Hello Kitty is a basic slider phone styled after the popular Japanese cartoon character.

Duo Sony Ericsson Z558i & Z558c Review

Sony Ericsson Z558i / Z558c is a very close relative of the existing Z550 handset, but with one unusual change - the Z558 supports handwriting recognition and comes with a touch-sensitive display.

Of course, handwriting recognition is nothing new, but this is the first time that Sony Ericsson have included it in a non-Symbian phone (i.e. a smartphone). As far as we can tell, this Z558 is simply a slight software and hardware revision of an existing run-of-the-mill handset. The Sony Ericsson Z558 can recognise Chinese, Thai and English characters - and as usual with Sony Ericsson, the “c” variant is for China, with the Z558i aimed at other markets.

Nokia 7390 Review the L’Amour Range

A new addition to the L’Amour range, the Nokia 7390 is probably also Nokia’s first sensible 3G clamshell phone. It’s a pretty conventional but well specified device, with a 3 megapixel digital camera, 240×320 pixel display, external media controls, microSD expandable memory, Bluetooth, video calling, stereo FM radio, MP3 player and everything else you’d expect to find in a 3G device.. except, being a L’Amour series device, it’s also very attractively designed.

Nokia 7373 Review the L’Amour Collection

nokia-7373An upgrade to the attractive Nokia 7370, the Nokia 7373 forms part of the Nokia L’Amour collection. It’s almost identical to the 7370, except the 7373 comes with a 2 megapixel digital camera which nicely complements the 7373’s 240×320 pixel display and microSD expandable memory. Internal memory has also been increased to 128Mb, and the Nokia 7373 retains the MP3 player and all the other functionality of the previous device.

Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition Review

nokia-8800-siroccoThe Nokia 8800 Sirocco Editio is a fairly minor but useful upgrade of the existing Nokia 8800, replacing the 0.5 megapixel camera in the 8800 with a much more useful 2.0 megapixel device and increasing the internal memory from 64Mb tp 128Mb. There’s also an FM radio, MP3 player and expandable memory.
